The Dentist

An hour of masked silhouettes, the scent of disinfectant and cheap cologne, and the sound of whirring drills and grinding metal is far too much.

Novacaine sucks, and every time I need a filling, it never works. They pump my mouth full a couple times and I can still feel every chip of tooth being knocked off of my tooth, my tooth, the tooth they sealed, the tooth that wasn't supposed to get cavities, the tooth that they've resealed twice already.

I hate Dentists, they smell bad, they have horrible taste in music; "All the songs the other stations forgot!" yeah, there's a reason for that. They cram their fingers into my mouth with their pointy metal things, poking and prodding, scraping and drilling. My teeth are the world being eaten away by drills and excavators, picks and shovels. They give you their "It's just a little cavity," and dig into your tooth until you can feel the grinder spinning it's blades of peril nanometers from your nerve cell, they're liars, thay can tell you more, I would feel better if they didn't use their propaganda, I would feel better if they just told me "Son, you have an enormous hole in your tooth full of hungry microorganisms who can't wait to rot your gums" and jammed the drill in.

Yeah, it keeps me healthy, so what, it keeps me pretty, so what. The big people don't need teeth, with their veneers and such, having their servants pick every morsel from the nooks and crannies. Some people have fakes, fakes don't go bad, fakes don't rot, fakes don't yellow so much if you don't bleach them with poisons.

Teeth are so inefficient, I wish they were more permanent, I wish they needed less care, I wish they were less sensitive. Teeth should not be a responsibility, teeth should not be a privilege, everyone's born with them, why can't we die with them, you don't need to brush your hands to keep them there.
