I decided to keep my same characters from yesterday for a while.
The silence woke her. Harlow blinked away the sleep and felt a stream of sun warming her face. The sun was getting ready to set from what she could see through the curtains. She rolled to her side and saw the man from the street next to her. Sterling. Blue eyed, pale skinned, bright smile, Sterling. He was fast asleep. She watched his chest rise and fall. He slept on his back, arm over his face. He was slender but toned. He had a small grouping of hair on his chest. His lips were pouty even in his sleep. She had been at his apartment for almost 6 hours. The walk home from the coffee shop was friendly and chipper. They chit chatted about the weather, their jobs and hobbies. Less than ten minutes of being at his apartment, he was inside of her, kissing her neck and holding her body up against a wall. When they had finished, they climbed into bed and shared the intimate details of their lives. She had kept a few tidbits to herself, like her husband.
Her husband was a rich man. A hard working man. For lack of better terms, a drug dealer. But not one of those amateur drug dealers selling weed out of his section 8 apartment. He worked for a pharmaceutical company. But it wasn't that cut and dry. It never was. She had seen a lot in her 31 years on earth, but the killing of innocent people her husband's company had done was more than she could handle to think about. She was with him for the financial stability. She painted. Her art was finally selling consistently. A few more paintings and she could be out from under his thumb. She loved him, but how she loved Lox on bagels.
She briefly closed her eyes when she felt Sterling push the hair off of her face. She opened them. "Hey," he whispered. She smiled at him. He rolled closer and kissed her, running his hand through her messy hair. She let out a muted moan and he kissed harder. His phone began to vibrate on the bed stand next to him.
