It's been said before, but: Oh, Dean. I love everything about this. Dean's low self-esteem theater is even tastier when he starts interacting with angels, using Castiel to replace Sam's attention even though he knows it's not the same. I've always thought the most painful thing for Dean was that Sam does love him, just... not enough. I think Dean could have dealt better with not being loved, which explains a little bit about the Wish-verse.

Yes, totally. And it's not even like Sam doesn't love him way more than is like ... healthy, it just isn't to the pure, single-minded extent that Dean loves him. Even when he does, Dean is weird about it. *pets Dean*

ummm. incredibly, awesomely, fantabulously wonderful. for serious. i love this. fav line:
"All that God commanded me crap is bullshit. He wants to touch your brand, the place his grasp burned into your flesh-and places where you're pretty fucking sure God didn't command him to keep grasping you-wants it like your mom wanted a normal life, like your dad wanted revenge, like Sam wanted you before you died."

Fantastic fic! I could really hear Dean's voice while reading it. I love that his relationship with Castiel is just as messed up as anything else in his life.
