Still getting married.

So that's good.
Here is a link to my wedding website. I don't really update it, but it has registries, wedding party specifics, and a run down of our relationship story.

I had my first dress fitting. Turns out they are super boring. I'm not too bad at being a motionless doll for 3 hours, though, and the dress is going to be beautiful. There is a huge difference between a dress bought off the rack and a dress where every detail (down to the way the seams lay) is designed specifically to your body. It's a very simple dress, just a tea length ivory satin strapless, backless under dress and a three quarter length sleeve, boat neck, backless lace over dress. It is going to look amazing, and I'm so happy with it.

Alex and I are going to be in the Bay Area June 14-16 for a very quick trip. We're going to have an engagement party. Hopefully everyone will get to meet him and I'll get to see everyone.

I finally got all the invitations sent out and the RSVP's are coming back in. Since the majority of my friends are out of town, I'm assuming that it will mostly be our Portland friends that actually make it, which is fine. We have our officiant, Ed Segal, one of Alex's professors from Reed. I need to mail the florist the bridesmaids swatches so she can get an idea as to what colors I'm using, but I need to use the swatches to take to DSW and find an appropriate color of shoes for my bridesmaids. Honestly, if they wear different shoe colors, I'm not going to freak out, as long as it's all sort of the same. Whatever.

Speaking of shoes, I'm going to decorate my own shoes. I have a bunch of antique lace and pearl appliques and such. I'm going to make something like this. So despite having a very simple dress and jewelry- my shoes are going to be very fancy and unique. I also found this manicure, which is my favorite thing ever. I chose my photographer, my florist, and my bakery. I have a tasting with the caterer today. I need to go find a wig and veil. I found this foundation, which is very light and easy to wear and designed for photography. They also have a primer. I may just go to Sephora the day of my wedding and have them do my make up. It seems like it will be cheaper than getting all of the necessary make up that I will never wear again.

The bridesmaids stuff is all falling into place. They're all wearing different colored dresses, but the same neck line and hem line. I think they're going with gold or nude shoes- mostly flats, but Mere (the maid of honor) will probably wear heels. It's really nice to have a family that just gets things done with out fuss. Katt is organizing a bridal shower for me with one of my Portland friends. Meredith is taking care of dresses/shoes/hair/jewelry. My mom is making my dress and advising me on all the bridal things. Easy peasy, really.

People keep expecting me to be very stressed out, but it hasn't happened yet. Maybe once the whole thing really kicks into gear in late July I'll be more worried about things.

To do list:
-write vows
-choose music (any suggestions for a processional, folks?)
-wedding ring for me
