What he didn’t expect were the consequential events of his action. Startled by the sensation of his fingers on her skin, River jumped and lost her balance on the ladder, causing her to fall into Jayne’s arms.
“You okay?” He asked out of concern.
She just smiled and replied with a quick peck on the tip of his nose.
