(no subject)
i went to the miramar air show this weekend and made my ears feel like they were going to bleed and my face melt off from the noise all the airplanes made. in other words, it was pretty awesome. :-)
o hai blue angels!
c5 galaxy. it's so big that it doesn't look like it should exist, let alone fly. you could comfortably fit like, 12 of these:
...or a bunch of cars in there. you could play football in there!
i saw this and went; "i've worked on this! i can totally tell the guys here where all its fire sensors are!" this is the same plane as one at my school, except shinier and with its tip tanks still attached for fuel. the one at school used to have them until some kid cut through all the safety stuff to see what a lever would do and dropped one, flooding the hangar with several hundred gallons of jet fuel (keep in mind the tip tank is over 16 feet long!). so they are no more. it was in the 'vintage warbird' area of the displays.
then i came home the next day and ate this.
