(no subject)
i didn't realize how tired i was today until i sat down. i only meant to rest a little before i made dinner, but i ended up flat passing out and waking up too late to make anything really complicated. it worked out for the better because what i really wanted was some comfort food. and of course that means a casserole! so i ended up making a chicken-veggie-noodle thing that i got the idea for from a campbells soup commercial. mm mm good!
today was the westec tool show where i went as the representative assistant manager of shaky coast aviation that yes is a real company. google! man, i can go my entire life without ever going to one of those again. there were a couple interesting things, like gears that aren't round and water cutters that can cut through metal with high powered jets of water, but still! i was hoping for stuff like at the women in aviation conference. they gave out pretty good stuff, like lavender scented candles, nail buffers and other cheapo things. why not you, westec?
at least it wasn't as embarrassing as the wai conference. that scene in bridget jones' diary where she shows up to a formal dress party in a bunny outfit sums up my experience there. i asked my dad who was at the same conference i was going to later in the day what people were wearing. he said jeans and tees, so i showed up in a striped polo shirt, skinny black jeans and a beat up pair of chucks...to a career building seminar filled with people in military uniforms and business casual. i learned my lesson--it's better to be a little too formal than get the stink eye from naval officers.
this is completely random, but when i was getting lunch yesterday, i saw the crew shooting my name is earl! i go to school right near the corner of saticoy and balboa, which stands in as the set of the show, along with their fake trailer park a couple blocks down. anywho, jason lee was milling around as his stunt double sprawled out in a shopping cart, while the guy who plays his brother was pacing back and forth. hooray for the valley! we make more than porn!
