It really sucks knowing that you're so close to something you want, and then suddenly you're worlds away. I don't feel like I'll ever be able to adopt. It's not fair and I'm really just about to give up on it all.

Yet another thing to cross off my list of things I thought I would have done by age thirty five.

Why aren't you able to adopt? Is it a legal problem?

Not really. I'm just not as good a candidate as other people so I end up so far down on the list that it's not even worth hoping anymore.

Well, I'm single, male, and gay. That pretty much means I'm the lowest man on the totem pole.
