There's a downside to being overly friendly just like there's usually an underlying reason for it. Or, sometimes there isn't. Sometimes, there's just this really friendly, talkative person. Is it wrong to attempt to make conversation even if it appears that there isn't much to talk about? Talking about a slow night doesn't make the night any less slow. Talking about -- not talking isn't talking. It's filling a gap that won't be filled at that moment in time with that person. Sometimes the conversation isn't there.
