but you were able to deduct that he was doing the secret agent thing too hard in those two minutes, so there had to be substance in them.

Well, he started off by telling me that he couldn't tell me where Beth was, which I called him on as being a pretty shitty thing to do, and then he starts off each sentence with "I can't tell you..." then tells me the exact thing he can't tell me.
