Happy Easter, everyone! Well, I suppose it's a bit late to say that, but I was out to dinner with my wife that evening and was too busy to make a post. But I'm doing it now! So no one can tell me I'm not!
This past week has been very interesting. Some of you may recall that I met a homeless man who was begging for money on my way home from Mr. Edgeworth's party. Several people were under the mistaken impression that he must have been trying to mug me, but as Mr. Wright suggested I called the police and described the straits the poor man was in, telling them every detail.
As it turns out, I met him again last Friday. In court!
The people who assumed that he was trying to mug me were half right: he had actually mugged several people on dates both before and after the night he asked me for money! When he saw that I was presiding over his trial he seemed terrified, and the evidence left no doubt that he had committed the crimes in question, but I couldn't help thinking back to that night, where he was so desperate, and take it easy on him. He'll be doing community service during all of his free time for the next three years or so, but he won't be going to prison.
I suppose he's lucky he was feeling somewhat more amiable on the night I met him, or else he would have come away much worse!
Also: my grandchildren have taken to hiding plastic Easter eggs inside my house. I do not know why. This morning I found one in my denture glass - another was inside of my beard, tumbling out during my morning brush! It's always a fun surprise, but I can't help wondering where they might pop up next...
