Tuesday's election results could not have been clearer. Gotham City-- to borrow from the man's campaign-- believed in Harvey Dent. The vote against the incumbent had been overwhelming, despite the money Carmine Falcone had poured into his campaign. Garcetti had until the first of the year to finish up his business as District Attorney.

Thankfully, his deal with Jonathan Crane was finalized, needing only the approval of a judge. There was nothing Dent could do to screw this up, and that was all Nadine Lewis cared about.

The young defense attorney tapped her fingers against the table. Dr. Crane was supposed to have been here ten minutes ago. Damn prison transports, never on time when you need them to be, she thought. She felt sure this would be a simple, easy process. As long as Crane had managed to make himself look presentable, they'd be just fine.

Between police brutality and the offer of information on inmate plots, how could the judge refuse to let the D.A. make his deal with Crane?

Nadine breifly wondered what to do about the letter she'd received. However, the answer came to her easily enough. She would say nothing. She'd pretend she'd never seen it.
