Night Cap

Lonely hotel room and a 1000 miles away

Sick of staring at the blank TV wishing you were here

But can’t beg the difference of longing my stay

Rain drips quietly, a train rumbles past - gorging me into the night

I want the amenities of isolation, and I’ve found them tonight

In this lonely hotel room a 1000 miles away I regard the past as nothing but dire solitude

-beckoning me to repeat all of its misfortune’s

Causing anger and desire to suppress any kind of joyful mood

Blatantly it all falls apart in my mind - one channel white light

But what I want the most seems so far away on this cold, ominous dark night

In this lonely hotel room a 1000 miles away I pray-

Not to god or any other kind of divine being, but too you... for you

Staring at the demons on the ceiling letting they come as they may

It’s nothing strong enough I can fight -

I’m weaker than you know - exposing it all makes for one humbling sight

In this lonely hotel room a 1000 miles away I take one for you and one for me

Top it off with a night cap-

A bitter sweet ambiguous night cap.

Cheers baby.

lonely, sorrow, redemption, sad, love, hotel, lust
