Musharraf to step down

According to the BBC (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/7113432.stm), Musharraf is going to step down as head of the Pakistani army.  Apparently,

“Pervez Musharraf "will take over as the president of Pakistan as a civilian" on Thursday, spokesman Gen Qureshi told BBC World TV. Pervez Musharraf "will take over as the president of Pakistan as a civilian" on Thursday, spokesman Gen Qureshi told BBC World TV.”

Moreover,

“Gen Musharraf designated Gen Kiani, a former head of the intelligence services, as his successor as army head in October.”

It should be interesting to see what happens because former Pakistan Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif is returning from exile from Saudi Arabia. Should be an interesting “threesome” between Bhutto, Sharif and Musharraf.
