So I went out today...

After my foray into shoveling madness, I was talking with Rodney on IM. I think he was going a bit stir-crazy and wanted to borrow a few movies. I headed over to his place for lunch with him and his girlfriend, after which, we jammed for a a bit. For those of you who don't know, Rodney is one of the best bassists with whom I've ever played. He's just sick. But today was a guitar day. I tired myself out on a whole bunch of Seattle-tastic grunge. This was the first time I've sat down at a kit since Memorial Day weekend. I forgot how much I really do need to play, on a regular basis.

Lessons leaned from this:

Don't go for so long between times that I drum.
Don't try and sing Alice in Chains songs while drumming. I forget the words when I do this _and_ I play like shit.
Same thing goes for Soundgarden. (except that I sound even worse)
If we're gonna play and I'm gonna sing, I should look at the words in advance. It might help, a little.

Otherwise, things were cool. I'm still completely enamored with the snow. I blasted through an almost 3 foot high snow drift from a dead stop, just to get out of my parking spot. Snow exploded _everywhere_. It was marvelous. While out, I remembered power-slide through turns on snow and ice is one of the most fun things you can do with a Jeep. It really is a peek at sublime joy.

I love my Jeep and its massive ground clearance and Four Wheel Drive Goodness.

It was a long day (up at something like 0530) and I'm exhausted. I just have to make it through the rest of my workday - a little less than 6 hours to go.
