I don't know why I always promise to be on LJ more often when I should know by now that it's pretty much impossible to pin down any time.
Just half an hour ago I was watching TV, texting with my son's girlfriend and talking to my husband about a leak from the water meter all at the same time. I had to drop everything to call the water department

Your cats sound well and are fortunate to have such a good home! There are a lot of outside cats around our neighborhood and frankly, they don't look so great. They fight in our backyard also, which I know can't be healthy for them--remember all the battle-scarred tom cats of my youth when in small towns virtually all cats were outside cats. They are always breeding also.
ordered another copy of Unfinished Tales in a larger print because my old book has such tiny print that I can hardly see it without a magnifying glass
I am totally dependent upon my Kindle for PC! The largest print in paper books is too small for me. Although, I do have a magnifying glass that I occasionally use on Tolkien-related research in books which do not exist in e-book form.
I have spotted a few K-dramas that looked appealing to me. I am open to suggestions of any you find particularly compelling. I am really mostly repelled US TV today. Not surprisingly, a lot of it is dystopian and depressing or relentlessly bleak and grim--enough about drug dealers, zombies and vampires already! And I cannot stand most reality TV. My recent favorites on Netflix are Derry Girls (comedy about adolescent Catholic school girls-behaving-badly in Northern Ireland during the Troubles!) and Workin' Moms and Let Down, which remind me a fair amount of one another. If Derry Girls can be both snarky and upbeat anything can be! Why do have to watch TV that makes me hopeless?
I watched figure skating like a real addict last week--Autumn Classic international--which surely must have been at least in your peripheral vision. CBC allowed me to stream the whole thing for free! Canada is the world's gift to figure skating--great hosts, great coaches, great athletes, and great sportsmanship. I also checked on the tickets and they were affordable. Maybe I will try to go next year if they hold it on this side of Canada like they have recently.
I agree with you it might be fun to get First-Age Tolkien production (or maybe not). I will reserve my wishes for that until I see what they do with the Second-Age content.

Poor feral cats can be a real problem in cities, but also other animals, i.e. raccoons, possums and skunks! My son and his girlfriend just came home from visiting Calgary and they were in a park there that was full of rabbits! Thousands of rabbits. They breed like crazy.
Kindle is so great. I have a lot of books on Kindle but still buy old-fashioned books that I can share with my sister.
These are some recent k-dramas on Netflix that I've enjoyed in particular:
1. Misaeng - a workplace drama that is a masterpiece and won tons of awards.
2. Heaven's Garden - a gorgeous family drama that has everything.
3. Reply 1994 - a wonderful family/romance drama. This is one of my all-time favourites.
4. Mr. Sunshine - engrossing historical drama about a young Korean boy who escapes during war and stows away on a ship to the USA, then returns 30 years later as an American soldier, there to protect the area during the Japanese occupation.
5. That Winter The Wind Blows - romantic drama that tears your heart out. I started crying from the beginning! I am currently watching this one.
Derry Girls! I loved it! I do love shows about teens. I thought Derry Girls was hilarious.
If you also like shows that center around teens, then let me add another k-drama. This one triggered a great many emotions for me, but is one of the most popular k-dramas ever!
6. Boys Over Flowers - this one stars Lee Min Ho, the most popular Korean actor there is. He's awesome although he plays a bad boy in this.
I also loved a Japanese drama called Erased. It's got the most adorable kids ever.
I need to get back into watching figure skating, especially during the winter. Just this morning I heard the news about Moir and Virtue retiring, which made me very sad.
Let's hope the producers, writers, etc. do justice to the Second Age.

I know! Felt like they would last forever. But at least they retired at the top of their game. They must be exhausted though. Even ballet dancers last longer than figure skaters--it is such a brutal sport while looking so beautiful! What a contradiction.
Thank you for the long list of k-dramas! I am psyched. Sometimes I cannot do anything but veg-out and love to be entertained while doing it!
Alex is heartbroken about the neighborhood cats, but I really cannot be the Mother Teresa of feral cats. Mexico City was worse. After the big earthquake when we lived there so many people were killed and homes destroyed that there were roving packs of dogs--including rabid dogs.
