This is just terrific. I love the way you get a sense of everyone's reactions, even Rossi's. I love Morgan's role in this -- his realization of how unlike Gideon this move is, his bonding with Hotch over the knowledge, the way he realizes Gideon's influence -- in life and death -- weigh on Reid. The writing, too, is great -- you've got a great physicality to your writing. I can see every little detail, from Hotch slipping the candy into his pocket to JJ's hand on her face and the way Reid's hands are angled.

What I love most is the way you've perfectly captured Reid's uneasy relationship with Gideon. You don't make Gideon some purely evil puppetmaster, and you don't make Reid some blind puppy who worshipped him. You capture beautifully the tangled nature of their relationship through Reid's realization of his conflicting emotions over Gideon.

She doesn’t sometimes get a physical echo of the feeling of him gripping the back of his neck, meant in reassurance and affection, and feeling caught between being comforted and feeling used
