It has been raining since mid-morning, but that's not about to stop Aphrodite from taking a dip in the ocean. The waves are a little choppier than usual, but she's a very good swimmer, and she's got herself a little shorty wetsuit just for this kind of situation - pink, of course.
What Aphrodite doesn't take into account, though, is that thing she hates to think about...she's no longer a goddess. She's stuck as a mortal, which means that while she's still an excellent swimmer, she also doesn't have that extra power and strength she's used to. But naturally, she doesn't think about how swimming in the ocean in dubious weather might not be the best idea until she's already out past the point where her feet reach the sandy floor.
The current is wicked strong, with a good undertow, and Aphrodite knows she needs to get back to shore before things get any worse. The problem is that she doesn't know if she can make it, so instead she sets out for the end of a nearby dock, intending on climbing up. Before she reaches it, though, a particularly strong riptide swept her up, sending her slamming right into one of the posts hard enough to knock her out.
Unconscious, Aphrodite can only hope someone will happen to come by and see her floating in the water.
