it's nice to be alive: a post-epitaph mix
This is mostly a sequel to my last mix Stay Alive [
x]. It assumes Dom was out there saving lives during the apocalypse and not, you know, dead, and that he visited Safe Haven regularly, during which he and Adelle formed something of a relationship. This mix picks up where Epitaph: Return leaves off.
capricornia; allo darlin'
i will come to you when you fall down
and when the lights go out and you set the world to rights
when i find you under capricornia skies
pink bullets; the shins
the years have seemed short but the days go slowly by
two loose kites falling from the sky
drawn to the ground and an end to flight.
firewood; regina spektor
the piano is not firewood yet
but a heart can't be helped
and it gathers regret
civilian stripes; divine fits
so is it good
is it really good
the quite life
early in the night
you went walking in your new civilian stripes
one line; pj harvey
do you remember the first kiss?
stars shooting across the sky
to come to such a place as this
you never left my mind
gentle sons; the pains of being pure at heart
now you stand in the rain saying
“nothing has changed at all”
save the lines in your eyes
that remind me of summer’s fall
fake empire; the national
let's not try to figure out everything at once
it's hard to keep track of you falling through the sky
we're half awake in a fake empire
neighbor; band of horses
every house not a home but dare do i roam
there's a light on the porch here for someone
we won't run; sarah blasko
we won't run, we can fight,
all that keeps us up at night.
there is far, to go now,
let's not waste a minute more.
it's nice to be alive; ball park music
kiss me,
it’s nice to be alive
