Woke up this am with some pep in my step. Not only did I get my shift covered tonight, but tonight is the Emmy's. I love the Emmy's and the Oscar's as much as most people love football. I get very excited about. I guess it is the "gay" in me.
After a quick shower and giving the dogs some breakfast,... did you know that they make actual cereal for dogs now? Anyway, I went out to buy some champagne for the Emmy awards tonight. I decided I deserved a treat. I also have cheese and crackers and roasted garlic hummus ready. I am SO excited!! After stopping at the liquor store, I then decided to stop at my favorite fish store to get some fish for my tank. (Flippy died and he prevented me from getting any other fish as he would always eat them! RIP Flippy. You big-fat yellow fish!!You reminded me of Troy). Anyway, I walk into the store and the woman who owns it was holding this HUGE snake right out there in the open. I walked in, GASPED and left. The owner has known me for years and must have handed the snake to someone and chased me out. I told her that I could go somewhere else and that I am deathly afraid of snakes. I told her that I did not think it was appropriate to do that out in the open like that. She calmed me down and told me that she had someone put the snake away and to please come back in. Reluctantly, I did. I picked out 2 golden-flame gourami's and a blue gourami for my tank. She apoloigzed again and I left. I really needed a smoke after that. She gave me 2 chewies for the dogs as well. I guess to console me and smooth things over.
I then went to Tunes, the best used CD, DVD and Video place in town. I spent 6.00 and got this Christina Aguilera cd I wanted. It's an old one and I love every song on it. I also got a show soundtrack and a VHS tape. All for 6.00!! You gotta love it. I used to think Christina Aguilera was some teeny bop artist, but I find her to be quite talented. It's weird to have such varied taste in music, from Streisand and Sinatra to REM and Green Day to Christina Aguilera. At least she isn't a talent-less hack like Brittany Spears. May I just add.......who gives a shit about her and her idot husband having a baby? NOT ME!!She BLOWS!! And more than just Kevin Federline I might add!!
Okay, game plan is as follows. Nap for much of the rest of the afternoon to be fresh and awake for tonight's festivities. I believe the red-carpet special begins at 5pm. So, from like 5pm to after 11pm I will be glued to the tv. My biggest hope is that Frances Conroy wins for Six Feet Under. She is an amazing actress.
Hope everyone has a great Sunday!!! Cheers!!!
