Hello and welcome to the Criminal Minds Christmas Stocking meme. Basically, you can request any piece of fanwork you would like as long as it's Criminal Minds related, and in return you offer to make something for someone else.
How does it work?
1. Post a comment to this entry with your wishlist. You can ask for up to 7 items. The items can be: fanfics, podfics, graphics (icons, headers, Friends Only banners, wallpapers, picspams, animations, fanfic covers, mood themes, LJ layouts), fanvids, fanmixes, or recs. Please post your wishlist in one comment. If you think of something after posting your wishlist, you can edit it if no one has replied yet. (If your account level doesn't allow you to edit your comment: reply to your own comment, put "Edited wishlist" as the subject, and repost the whole wishlist. You can do this as long as no one has replied to it yet.)
2. Make sure you have email notifications enabled: if you don't see when someone comments with a gift for you, what's the point? ;)
3. Browse through the comments and offer to make something for someone else. If you post a wishlist, please fulfill someone else's wish! You can fulfill as many wishes as you want, but please do at least one. If no one makes anything, no one gets anything. :P
4. (Optional, but appreciated) Promote the meme on your journal/community. Of course, you're welcome to link to your wishlist so your friends can make something for you.
5. When someone posts a gift for you, thank them!
What are the deadlines for requesting and gifting?
You can post your wishlist from this moment up till December 31st. After that date, I will delete any new wishlists.
Gifts can be posted from this moment till January 6th. On January 7th I will post the masterlist of the fanworks created for this meme. If you promised something and realize you won't make the deadline, please let your receipient know.
Of course, you are welcome to keep on fulfilling wishes after January 6th - I just won't include them in the masterlist, but they WILL make someone happy. :)
What can you request?
You can request any of the following: fanfics, podfics, graphics (icons, headers, Friends Only banners, wallpapers, picspams, animations, fanfic covers, mood themes, LJ layouts), fanvids, fanmixes, or recs. You can request seven different types of fanworks, but also seven fanfictions, or seven wallpapers, etc, or any combination (for example, three fanfics, a wallpaper, two icons and a fanmix).
Try to give an idea of what you'd like, without however being too specific. Requests that are too vague or too specific are less likely to be filled.
Good examples:
- Fanfic, Morgan/Reid, Reid loves cupcakes.
- Wallpaper with Hotch and Jack. I like blue, green and grey. My screen resolution is 1280x800px.
- JJ icon with my username on it.
- Anything with *insert rare pairing here*.
Also:
- When requesting headers, banners and wallpapers, remember to specify the size.
- You can also link to specific images, if you want. It can make the artist's job much easier, but try to only link to high quality images.
- When requesting a podfic for a fanfic you didn't write yourself, ask the author first if it's okay with them! Also, provide a link to the fanfic.
- When requesting a fanfic cover, provide a link to it.
Any rating and kink/warning is allowed. If your wishlist/gift contains spoilers for S6, please say so in the comment title: not everyone is up to date and we want it to be fun for everyone.
Real Person is allowed (and encouraged *ç*), so feel free to ask fanfics/graphics/etc. of the actors our of character.
You are also allowed ONE wish regarding an actor in another role (for example, Mandy Patinkin as Rube in Dead Like Me).
Crossovers are also allowed as long as Criminal Minds is one of the fandoms involved.
What can't you request?
- You can't request more than seven items. Please note that: "Fanfic, Morgan/Prentiss, marriage OR love letter" counts as two as there are two prompts. However, "Fanfic, Morgan/Reid or Hotch/Reid, comfort!sex" counts as one, as does "any pairing/character".
- You can't request for items not related to Criminal Minds (with the exception of one wish of one of the actors in another role).
- You can't request for download links of the show's episodes.
How do you grant a wish?
1. (Optional) Reply to the wishlist and say which wish you are going to grant. This is so two people don't work on the same gift at the same time. You can also ask questions if something is not clear (for example, Is there a particular image you'd like me to icon?, Does NC17 work for you?, Have you seen the latest episode?, etc.)
2. Make the item.
3. Reply to the wishlist comment with the item. You can either post it directly in the comment, or post it to your own journal/community and link to it in the comment.
If you see that someone hasn't gotten any gifts yet, consider making something for them. I really hope everyone will get something, and I will try my best to make sure it happens, but I need everyone's help. Even just one icon can make someone's day!
If you promise something, make it. I know life can get in the way, but please try your best - or, at least, let the receipient know.
