[EM] 20 - Complete Opposite
Y’know, in a lot of ways, I think I’ve always sort of seen my polar opposite in Vaughn. No lie Syd, please don’t kill me, I say it with love, because even though yeah, he’s my best friend? Even a lot of our similarities are really differences.
Sense of humor? Great place to start. I have one...he doesn’t. Didn’t, actually. I mean...he sort of grew into it after he met Sydney. Before that? It was kinda hit and miss with him. The guy just has a habit of taking things a little too seriously. And I don’t mean serious *serious*, but...the guy didn’t laugh. Like at all. A snort, a chuckle, maybe a giggle if you were *real* lucky, but a genuine bonafide belly laugh was unheard of from Michael Vaughn.
Me? I don’t take life too seriously. Michael thinks life is serious business. He lives by Murphy’s Law. I enjoy the occasional half hour of Murphy Brown...it’s a vice. I don’t wanna hear a word, not one word, capice? Good.
Anyway...you see where I’m going with this?
The guy that would be my mirror image, and by that I mean *opposite*, is a guy who believes in Fate over Destiny...that things are set in stone, and that even if you want to change them, break the rules...there’s a certain way to go about it. He can’t find something to smile about, it has to find him. He wouldn’t travel Frost’s road less traveled by unless Frost was there to tell him how to do it.
And you know what? There’s nothing wrong with *any* of that...but? It’s also a pretty accurate description of my good friend, best buddy, and yin to my yang, Mr. Michael Vaughn.
