And shitting hell woman. It's really moved on and evolved into much more than I ever expected it to!
I mean even in this chapter, we finally meet the man who Ianto's been looking for for so long, and I think the gravity of the situation didn't really hit him until he had that breakdown. And the way you wrote it was so amazing, like we were going through it with him and then Jack was there and the words you used were just so emotive..woah.
And then the bit between Tosh and Owen, the passionate nature of them both brought out so tragically, and we see Owen is so broken by what he has to do on a day-to-day basis but there's nothing he can do about it because nothing he could do would change anything apart from whether he would be dead or alive. I think it stung more that they slept together and she left without the Retcon. I mean, is Owen going to go after her? Because that sorrow was...so all consuming, so gripping...:(
Well, where can I start on the last section? I mean I was expecting Darko to be darker, you know, still as strong as he sounded before, confrontational. But I think this worked so much better. You could tell the insanity bubbling within him, but despite that, there's no real way to know whether what he said was true. The things he says are obviously designed to cut Ianto in a way to make him retaliate, but I don't think he anticipated Ianto's attitude, and the miscalculations on both sides were so well played out.
I liked Ianto's decision in the end. He doesn't have to mar his own conscience with killing someone in cold blood, he's come into himself, grown from it...
And then Darko shoots Jack. *wails*
And Ianto snaps.
And the world is turned upside down. *wails some more*
Pleasepleasepleasepleasepleaseplease can there be more soon?

ANYWAY I'm just going to sit here and say a hugeeeee thank you for this comment! Because it is just so lovely beyond words. I'm just so chuffed that you enjoyed that beginning bit, as I partly thought it might be a little boring...so whoo, relief there. If it was a teeny bit emotive then I am a very happy bunny! :D
As for Tosh and Owen...well I almost cried writing that. I've been holding off on Owen's past for so long that I almost couldn't write it! But at least with them sleeping together they avoided the very cliched goodbyes that they'd ultimately be doomed to. Lol but again...THANK YOU! I partly think I should just type that about a hundred times after this comment!!
How to write Darko has been a bane of mine. I had two ideas initially, either criminal lord or deranged mad man - and I prferred the latter, mainly because I think it was almost showing what Ianto might turn in to if he stayed so tied to his past...maybe. But anyway, I am mucho relieved he didn't disappoint thee! *mega huggles*
And yes...the ending. Well what can I say? TOATA hasn't had enough shameless cliffies you know. :P
