Sunday we get to the resort around 3 and our room isn't ready yet so hung at the bar and watched the end of the Pats game and took full advantage of Happy Hour. We met up with Sue and Peter and two of their friends down here Jamal and Nikki. Awesome people.
Once we got settled in we went to the resort's buffet with Jamal & Nikki for Prime Rib and other goodies. After dinner we go back to the room and crash since we had gotten 1 hour's sleep on George & Tracy's couch since saturday morning.
Yesterday we got up and drove over to the big supermarket to get breakfast & lunch food and some booze and most importantly some coffee. (Gotta have coffee). We came back, unpacked our groceries, and hit the beach. The ocean water here is BATH WATER warm. I've spent my whole life swimming in revere/salsbury beach ocean water which is cold, so you don't really realize you are in the ocean until you accidentally taste the water and then you know.
There's happy hour at the beach while you are down there (2 for 1 drinks) for a couple of hours always good, I'm buring through the mental list of island drinks (don't call them chick drinks).
Last night we all went out to dinner, Me, Janine, Sue, Pete, Jamal, Nikki and Sue & Pete's other friend Paige. When the first resturant we wanted to go to had an hour wait, Paige suggested a resturant that the locals go to called "The Old Canuku House" It was very off the beaten path in a residental neighborhood. We get in there a with the exception of an american couple leaving as we went in we were the only non-locals.
The food was AWESOME. I had the best escargot I've ever had (and it wasn't the normal butter & garlic prep) and a whole red snapper that was awesome. There was Jerked Goat, grouper, all kinds of goodies. Jon and Stina need to find this resturant the next time they are down here (and anyone else that might go to aruba).
I still havent' taken a lot of pictures, today I hope to...
Anyway time to cook some eggs and then hit the beach
