Okay... maybe an over reaction. Typing is proving very slow due to the keyboard lying to me. Oh... I should mention... I am in Yokohama. Shouldn't be too much of a surprise to most but I thought I should mention it

I think one of the problems is that I never sign into AIM anymore and don't post on LJ.... except when I'm in Japan. I'll try and get in touch properly when I get back to England.
It was just the keyboard of a laptop. The problem was, the language setup wasn't perfect and I couldn't put it to a sensible setting because all the menus and options were in Japanese. The laptop I'm using now is setup sensibly, with only the apostrophe being in a weird place. Hurrah for coherent sentences.
Magic wise... things seem to be going well so far, although the proper tournament stuff doesn't start until tomorrow.
Look! I have so much puntuation I can either give virtual hugs now!
Yeah... the hostel was fine. I get free internet access if I come down to the lobby and use one of the three laptops, and I have a place to sleep. The room is literally enough space for a bed roll, but it's pretty comfortable despite looking like it won't be.
Won't be gone long... see you on Sunday night (barring more flight problems).
Oh, good, you're alive. I was getting slightly worried when I heard about the flight. Look through the airline's terms & conditions, see what their policy is on reimbursing stuff like hotels (it's quite possible they're not required to do this), then kick up a fuss.
Hope you have fun in whatever time you've got left over there.
Oh, and parts of your bank obviously still haven't figured out how that newfangled "postal service" thing works, what with all that complicated business of putting a small piece of plastic in an envelope and all that. I'm assuming this because your debit card still hasn't turned up. There is still hope, however, for those who send you bank statements.
Yup... totally alive (and not Alice like I nearly typed).
They probably do have a section saying "blah blah blah if you get screwed we don't care" but I figure it's worth the ten minutes it's going to take me to write the email when I get back.
I'm not actually surprised that my bank is being completely crap. Last time I saw the branch manager and he tried three times to change the address and each time it failed. Finally he just called up the phone line I think I had already called and said, very firmly, "I would like a new card sent to Mr. Barnett with these bank details.....". I decided firmness was probably not going to work so I asked him "Are you 100% certain they are going to be able to send me my new card with what you have now done?" and he replied in the affirmative. As it is, if the card has not turned up by the time I get back into the UK, I will just close the bank account. I shall make sure I give my reason... "Massive incompetence".

That does sound like a bit of a frantic post, what sort of keyboard were/are you using?
Good luck with the Magic games, and be sure to get some interesting stories for us.

I'm glad you made it to the hostel in the end! I imagine you have already gone on the search for Starbucks already, so I hope you find it.
I miss you so much!
Hope you're having a great time :)
