“Kaiya! Where have you been?” Kana asked Kaiya as she walked into her homeroom.
Kana Tetsua has been Kaiya’s best friend since kindergarten. Whenever you saw Kaiya, Kana wasn’t far behind.
“Hey Kana! I was just showing Sohma-kun to homeroom.” Kaiya smiled and allowed Kyo to pass by her.
Getting closer to Kaiya, Kana started to whisper in her ear.
“Is he related to Yuki-kun?” Kana asked.
Kaiya cocked her head and started to think.
“Who is Yuki-kun?”
“You don’t know Yuki-kun? He’s in our homeroom.” Kana said in utter shock. Looking around the room, she pointed him out to Kaiya. “He’s over there standing at the window.”
Kaiya turned around and looked at the figure looking out the window. He was tall and medium in built. He turned around and looked Kaiya in the eyes, even from across the room. It was as if he knew she was looking at him.
“I’d have to say I never met him, Kana. How strange is that?” Kaiya smiled and gave a little chuckle.
“Well, I will solve that this minute.” Before Kaiya could stop Kana, she yelled across the room. “Yuki-kun! Could you come here a minute.”
Yuki Sohma smiled and nodded his head. By the time he reached them, Kaiya was so embarrassed that she literally hid behind her best friend.
“Yuki-kun, it seems that my best friend here hasn’t officially met you. This is Kaiya Miko.”
Kaiya smiled and nodded her head. “It’s a pleasure to meet you Yuki-kun.”
“The pleasure is all mine. I see you led Kyo here to our homeroom.”
“Yes, I did. He didn’t know where it was, so I obliged. Is he a relative of yours?”
“He’s my cousin.” Yuki nodded.
“I had wondered. It was nice meeting you.” Kaiya smiled. “I hope we can have the opportunity to talk later on.”
“I’m sure we will.” Yuki smiled back.
With that, Kaiya turned and left for her first class of the day.
