this,
this and
this! This could also be set in the same verse as these two other drabbles (
Red Light,
I like this bridge (좋아)), but it can be read alone, no problem. I had a little idea and I ran with it.

“You said you wanted to get tattoos to commemorate things in your life,” Kibum said suddenly, turning away from the television. “Do you think you’ll ever get a tattoo of SHINee?”
Jonghyun hummed, thoughtful. His hands slowed as they were petting through Garçons’ fur, the bright television in front of them playing a rerun of Kibum’s newest drama that he was only half-watching.
“Probably. Some day, yeah,” Jonghyun answered honestly.
Kibum nodded to himself, his attention going back to the television. Or so Jonghyun thought.
“You know, when you said you were going to get a tattoo I thought you meant just one,” Kibum teased. “How many are you at now, rockstar?”
Jonghyun chuckled. “I don’t even keep track.”
“One day you’ll take your shirt off and I won’t even notice you have a new tattoo.”
Jonghyun’s chuckles turned into a hearty laugh. “That’s the plan.”
“You’re lucky they suit you.”
“What suits me?”
“Tattoos.”
Jonghyun raised an eyebrow and turned to Kibum, surprised by the sudden declaration, but Kibum was pointedly looking at the television, avoiding his gaze. Of all the members, Kibum had been the most reticent to the idea of Jonghyun getting inked, for some reason. He’d probably thought Jonghyun would regret the designs, but he had warmed up to the idea soon enough. It wasn’t like Jonghyun had given him much of a choice, anyway.
“I can’t believe you got one of Roo,” Kibum spoke before looking down at Garçons and Comme Des, who were nestled between them on the couch. He held Comme Des face in his hands and made the pup look up at him, almost nose to nose. “I love you kids, but I would never permanently etch you onto my body,” he said, as if he was speaking to the dog. Comme Des’ head titled to the side in that adorable manner he always did when he didn’t understand what Kibum was doing.
“If you were to get a tattoo right now, what would you get?” Jonghyun asked, rerouting the conversation.
Kibum stilled, eyebrows furrowing like he was thinking about this seriously.
It took a moment, and Jonghyun simply watched as the television cast bright lights and shadows on the side of Kibum’s face.
Kibum finally settled on an answer. “Tattoos don’t suit me,” he stated simply. Jonghyun was about to protest when Kibum continued, “Besides, it would also take me eight years to convince my mom to let me get one.”
Jonghyun took the bait; he knew him better than that. “As if you would wait,” he said with a huff. “You’d get one anyway.”
It was Kibum’s turn to chuckle. “Probably. But I wouldn’t be able to commit to a tattoo. I’d grow to hate it or change my mind after a month or two.”
“You still like my tattoos,” Jonghyun pointed out.
“Because they’re on you.”
Jonghyun’s expression went soft at the words, and Kibum gave him a smile to match.
Some time later, when Kibum’s drama had ended and they were now watching a rerun of an older series despite tired eyes and heavy eyelids, Jonghyun broke their silence again.
“For my next tattoo, I was thinking of getting a fox,” Jonghyun said, feigning a casual tone. He was only joking, but Kibum didn’t know that.
Jonghyun watched as Kibum’s expression fell, his mouth dropping open in shock. Jonghyun couldn’t hold his laughter in anymore, and Kibum gave him a light slap on the arm when he understood.
“Don’t give me a heart attack like that,” he reproached, eyeing Jonghyun distrustfully.
Jonghyun looked at Kibum, who was huddled into a corner of the couch in his pajamas, one of his bare feet tucked under him, with Comme Des’ head in his lap, and thought, Maybe one day.
