So I got into the new dorms, which makes me sooooo psyched! I'm sharing a bathroom with a girl named Kristy, she's such a sweetheart, but I have my own single room. Kristy and I decided since we both adore rubber duckies to do that bathroom that way. I mentioned it to mom, who loves to have a little project or two to be working on. Needless to say, my bathroom, in less than five days, is "done". As in shower curtains, bath mats, towels, toothbrush and soap holders, garbage cans, etc... everything's bought! I can't wait to see it when I go home this weekend.
I'm not sure how to decorate my bedroom, and I've been giving this alot of thought. I usually use bright colors - last year the room was vintage of navy blue, red and cream. This year, we're tropical with cobalt blue and various shades of pink, mostly bright hot. Back at home, i recently took down all decor of the formerly ice blue and pristine white to create a very pbteen-look. It was painted a few weeks ago, three walls a mintish-green, with a hint of like margarita color in it, and the interior closet and wall with the window a bright pink. But I'm contemplating next year's room to be in shades of a nice peach and soft yellow and baby pink. Possibly alot of Georgia O'Keefe posters and prints on the walls. The other direction I'm toying with is black and white, with my collection of Ansel Adams limited edition framed pictures and prints on the walls. Decisions, decisions.... Like my mother, I love to have a project. I do have a beige carpet - the nice huge size, so if I decide to use that, then the first decor scheme makes more sense. I'm visualizing a nice, contemporary but very romantic style setting. Guazy window drapes, white bookcase and shelves, etc...
Hmm...
Oh well. This is probably boring y'all. I'm procrastinating currently. I got SOO much work done this weekend, despite the power outages and storm. I really don't want to clean the room, simply to prove to Sarah that she should've take it for granted that I do it each weekend. But I hate living in messy surroundings.
Most of my food is all gone. The girl scout cookies, chips, salsa, chai tea, all gone. Partly because I'm broke until the 15th, I won't be buying anything else and living off my meals. But the other part of it is because I know if I buy food, Sarah will eat it as well. Mom called the other day to say that my savings account is 285 bucks lighter... a withdrawl of 30 bucks here, 60 there really adds up. I had over a grand saved up for Europe this summer, but now it's less than 800. I really need to start watching how I spend. Therefore, if I'm not going to be eating all my food, and have to share, then it's not worth wasting the money on.
The fridge is a MESS tho. Here's what I'm thinking: I clean the room, LIKE ALWAYS, and wash her dirty dishes; in return ask her to clean out the fridge. That's more than fair, if you ask me. Granted, the fridge is a dirty job, but let's look at it like this:
ME: do laundry, make beds, hang up clothing, do ironing, put away crap all over the floor, dust, water plant, wash dishes, wash mirrors, clean sink, organize kitchenette area, take out garbage, vaccuum, and organize the desk.
SARAH: Clean out fridge.
I think that's more than fair. Especially since I did everything listed by my name each weekend. Also, I really would like it if her foot spa, winter clothing, and keyboard could be moved to the storage shed. They just sit around her taking up room. And it isn't fiar cuz she puts it right where I try to get to my own clothes. I think I'll put all that stuff in a pile in the lobby so she has to take it to Eric's. Or, better yet, maybe I'll call Eric and see if he can't come pick it all up. :)
Hey, she had all of last month to bring the stuff over! I think I've been VERY patient and understanding.
Just think...the room i'm living in with TWO desks, TWO beds, TWO bookcases and TWO people.... is the same size of the room I"LL HAVE ALL TO MYSELF!!! I'm sure I'll miss Sarah and get lonely from time to time, but overall.... I think I'll be doing cartwheels. Not to mention I'm sure Anthony will be over often enough to annoy the heck out of me. :) Yay. I'm looking foward to it.
