So I'm flying to New York City in the morning for the weekend. I've never been there and am finding myself kind of nervous. My other half is there working for two weeks, so I am just going for the weekend since the hotel is already paid for and I can visit New York for next to nothing. I don't know why I'm nervous. I'm excited about going, but I think I'm more nervous about arriving there by myself at 10am while he will still be working until probably 5-ish. So I'll be arriving there by myself and will have nothing to do but walk around and gawk at things until he finishes work. Things I HAVE to see: The Dakota, and the John Lennon memorial in Central Park, CBGB's (yeah, I'm getting a shirt), and Greenwich Village. Those are my three must-sees. I'm sure I'll think of more when I get there.
I'm also trying to quit smoking, so I think New York City will be good for that since you can't smoke inside places anyway. Funny thing is I can and do get by with smoking one cigarette a day, but for some reason it's that one that I can't seem to quit. Everyone says "you only smoke one. Why bother?", well, I can't answer that, and if I have a drink somewhere on the weekend, that's it for me, I'll smoke like a talk-show host in the '50s...
I hope I like New York.
