Creative Non-Fiction and the Personal Essay -- Week 1

My writing class kicked off on Monday. The first assignment consists of introductions, a list of ten stories that I want to consider during the next ten weeks, choosing one item from the list, and start writing. Not too tough, right? Wrong. I am having a bitch of a time coming up with ten "creative non-fiction or personal essay" ideas. I know the material is there but am struggling to recognize it.

Ideas thus far:

Leaving France and returning to Canada

So, let's see -- ten less one. Perfect! Only nine to go.
