"Silent Night, Holy Night. . ."
The smell of wax and mellow glow of candles began to spread through the tiny church as the song rose from the pews. Neighbor turned to neighbor, lighting their candles from the flame that the pastor had taken from the Christ candle in the center of the Advent wreath.
"With the angels, let us sing,
Alleluia to our King. . .."
The old boards turned to a rich gold as light filled the small room. Shadows fled before it to crouch up in the old rafters.
"Christ the Savior is born!
Christ the Savior is born!"
"Beautiful," whispered Sam Winchester.
"Yeah," agreed Dean Winchester, hefting the gas can. "Too bad we have to burn the place."
The sanctuary went dark, a cold wind whistled through the gaping holes in the old roof and the broken windows. Sam nodded and started sprinkling salt.
