Shuichi arrived home to an overall quiet house. The TV was on, but muted and the only sound came from the study, where Yuki was working on his latest novel. He put his bag down by the couch and followed the sound of Yuki’s fingers hitting the keys. Shuichi hoped that his boyfriend would be in a good mood as he knocked on the door to the study. He heard Yuki sigh and walk to the door. As he opened it Shuichi noticed the exhausted look on his face, sure he hadn’t come to bed last night, but Shuichi was sure he would have at least taken a nap sometime today.
“Y-Yuki…I know you’ve been busy, b-but did you watch the concert?” Yuki nodded and opened the door all the way so Shuichi could enter.
“You did well.” Yuki said as he sat down at the computer.
“W-Well? No constructive criticism this time?”
“I’m too tired for criticism of any type.” Yuki said as he began to type another sentence
“Are you going to pull another all-nighter?”
“If I don’t pass out, yes. I have a deadline to meet and you have a CD to work on tomorrow, so go to bed. I can tell you are tired.” He said without turning away from the computer. Shuichi nodded and kissed Yuki on the cheek before walking out of the study, that’s when Shuichi got a brilliant idea.
*5 minutes Later*
“What are you doing?” Yuki asked as Shuichi walked back into the study with two blankets and two mugs of coffee.
“I thought you might want some company for the all-nighter…” Yuki stared at him for a minute then nodded, allowing Shuichi the set the mugs of coffee on the desk and pull a chair up next to him. He reach Yuki a blanket, and sat down beside him, covering his own body with the remaining blanket. After a few moments of silence Yuki spoke.
“I don’t see why you want to keep me company all night. I’m sure you have better things to do.”
“I can’t imagine anything else I’d like to do more right now.” Shuichi said with a smile. Yuki paused for a moment and looked at Shuichi. He really did look content with doing absolutely nothing while he wrote, as long as he got to spend time with him. Yuki couldn’t help but smile as he pulled Shuichi’s chair closer to his. He put his arm around Shuichi and continued typing with the other hand. Shuichi took this opportunity and leaned his head against Yuki’s shoulder. Silently hoping he wouldn’t shrug his head off. He relaxed after a couple of seconds when he realized that Yuki didn’t mind so much. Unaware of how sleepy he actually was Shuichi rested his eyes for just a moment, falling asleep mere minutes later. Of course Yuki didn’t actually notice until he was drooling on his shoulder.
“Shu-oh…” he said quietly to himself. His angel must’ve been so tired, probably almost as tired as he was. Yuki didn’t want to disturb his lover so he gently guided his body down to where Shuichi’s head was in his lap. After he pulled the blanket up over Shuichi he continued to write, feeling a bit more inspired now.
