haha i'm still so amused by this that i'll put it in my lj, my fellow adelaidians who perhaps haven't seen this on the news will probably like it too.
in an attempt to curb loitering in the dark dark alleys of adelaide city, the council has come up with the ultimate plan..
wait for it..
they want to play barry manilow and/or barry white through speakers into the alleys at a volume that isn't enough to disturb the main road, but is loud enough to piss off people lurking.
this is not a joke.
they reckon the music, if played continuously, will annoy would-be drug dealers, attackers, etc to actually make them leave. i'm soooo serious. how hilarious is that??
