aw lar, sad. i completely felt that way last year. you couldn't have paid me to go through recruitment. and it didn't help that my roomie was this uberprep who had been preparing her whole life for it. but that's why we have deferred rush. i spent all last year learning things about the different women's organizations. although, none of the stereotypes you learn are true. the only way to really get to know them and see them not as a scary group of mindless girls (i KNOW it appears that way sometimes, with some sororities) is to go through recruitment. plus, you will meet SO many girls who you would never have come into contact with before. and as for spending every waking moment together, it's just because (esp during new member education) you are with these girls nonstop, and they literally become your family. i still have all my nongreek friends too, we hang out and go out and all that. i just happen to have a new family of 75 on campus and countless others around the world now. there's not an insane amount of drama, at least in my organization, because we all legit love each other. so...that was my spiel. greek life isn't for everyone, but give it time. i think that you would do really well if you went greek. or not, do whatever is right for you. but i will tell you, i now have this more immense support net, so big i couldn't even imagine living without them now. does any of that make sense?
No that does make sense, and it def could be the girls I hang out with that just talk a lot of trash about their sisters, lol. Plus, ironically, I definately ended up going to a frat party last night and had a lot of fun .. after. even though I wrote an entry how I was so against it yesterday. lol.
