Hey hey hey!
Have arrived in Ireland, as of thursday morning. After 2 delayed flights, being stuck in the middle seat between 2 people passed out in a chair that did not recline, even when I asked if I could move and they said they would move me if there was an opening and there was, napping for less than 3 hours, and over an hour and a half late arriving in Shannon, I made it. And then another 5 minutes being harrassed by the customs women, nonetheless, I was quite bitchy and cranky when I arrived.
But seeing James when I came out made me feel better.
The weather has been great, no rain so far, keeping fingers crossed.
Met his mother and sister right away, even in the cranky mood and disgustingness I felt, it went well. Although I'm sure they could tell I was sort of in a zombie-like state.
Took a nap thursday, had dinner with the family.
Slept most of friday, woke up at 7am when James went to work, stayed up till 10am then decided to take a nap which lasted till 4pm. Guess I was a bit jet lagged.
Went out friday night and some of his friends I already knew, and some ones I didn't.
Saturday we went into Galway to go food shopping and walk around. Was packed, monday was a bank holiday so people were all over. They supposedly spent 9 million fixing up around Shop St area but I couldn't tell.
James' sister Sarah went with me in town to see for jobs, The Soda Parlour is looking for someone for saturdays, and Hylands restaurant and hotel is looking for people as well.
James started teaching me how to drive stick. I think I did well for the first time, can shift gears fine, just starting from the neutral position is not so easy.
Saturday night we went out again, met some more of his friends again. I was told I am part of the gang now, his group of guy friends that is.
Sunday we all went to Lahinch, to the beach, another lovely day. The lads went to the pub while James and I went swimming. Water was incredibly warm compared to Massachusetts, I was happy. Waves weren't big enough for surfing though, which we had also planned to do. Then we just sat around on the beach with the 'lads', while they were deciding to stay and drink and we planned on going home.
Monday was the bank holiday, slept in.
Drove down to Hylands to drop off my resume, we'll see how that comes out this week.
Since it was warm we decided to go and jump off the pier not too far away. Took me awhile to get the courage since I'm not too fond of heights. Water was freezing so I only jumped once, got out as quickly as possible.
Weeded in his mother's garden for a little bit till we met up with his friends again and went down to the beach at Bishop's Quarter and had a bbq. Well they had a bbq, I was learning how to throw a rugby ball.
2 American girl students came along, one of them likes James' friend Jon. I don't particularly care for them as though are both flaky and always drunk when I see them.
For the rest of the day I'm going to lay outside in the sun while it's still nice.
Sun rises at 5am and sets at about 11pm. Crazy huh?
