B is for boredom

I'm sitting in court listening to testimony of an opposing expert. I'm really bored. The witness is doing just fine, but the subject matter is stuff I've heard a hundred times. The lawyers say he is going to take all day. Arrrgh.

I must say that its interesting to start each day with a motion for mistrial. The other side is desperate to get rid of this jury. But, we keep rolling along. I guess I should not say rolling along, but rather crawling.

I am sitting here thinking about the other things I need to do and how I'm not getting them done. I get back to my room at night and I'm too tired to work on anything. I've got a couple of things that are just not getting done and I don't like it. So being bored in court just makes it worse. I feel like external forces are controlling what I do and I really don't like that. I also dong really like typing with my thumbs on my blackberry

Changing gears, I did get home this weekend for just a bit of time. I bought some going to court clothes. I bought some court clothes a year ago, but I was not set up for a four week trial. I bought three suits, some shirts and some cool ties - Jerry Garcia ties. Pretty cool. We also replaced the van with a newer model. It was getting up in miles so we got a new one. Mary seems happy with it. I walked out on the first salesman we met with and Mary went by herself to another dealership. I thought that car sales had changed over the past few years, but no. It still takes hours of haggling with sales people and negotiations to get to a fair price. With all of the information available to consumers today, dealers still try to over-charge and under pay on the trade-in.

Well, that's enough complaining for now. I'll complain more later. Its almost time for a break anyway.
