Alito Hearings

Jan 12, 2006 10:09

I've been reading the transcripts of the Alito Confirmation Hearings, and if I were a senator, with the information I've seen so far, I'd vote to confirm him. If you're only hearing the media summaries of the testimony, and basing your opinion on that, well... you probably ought to read the transcripts first.

Fair warning: yesterday's transcript is three LARGE pages long. You can skim the procedural stuff -- "your time is up, Senator", "I yield the balance to...", and so on -- but it's still grueling. The third page covers his (non-)stance on Roe v. Wade and stare decisis, as well as the establishment clause.
