Today has been phenomenal.
We woke up and one of our neighbors was snow blowing the bottom of our driveway. We were out shoveling for 1.5 hrs last night, but it snowed all night and the plows piling all the snow up at the end doesnt help. This was really nice since it's tax season and Brian had work at 8:30 on Saturdays. So, we assumed it was Jim, our next door neighbor and I baked him cookies. I went over to deliver them and met Jim's wife (finally!) but they said it wasnt them and that they saw the man doing it and thought it was a different neighbor. They pointed to the house and Id never met that neighbor but I thanked them and went there with my cookies.
I rang the doorbell and very clearly heard a discussion being had over who was at the door, whether it was Amanda or not. Finally they opened the door and realized I was not Amanda but I met the man that had snow blowed and he was very appreciative of the cookies and friendly. He said he did it because "shelby owners have to stick together" At first I smiled and had NO idea what that meant. Then I realized when we first moved in this man has a Shelby Cobra car and it's Brian's all time favorite car and he has a clone of it that the neighbor must have seen. So, that was nice.
Then I went to Rite Aid in Liverpool where I used to fill my prescriptions because I recently got a card to help offset the cost of insulin. Im terribly close to being out of insulin and without health insurance realllly cant afford it so i went to look into it and a box of 5 pens would normally cost $300 only cost $160 with this card! That's still a lot of money to me with what little I make at my crappy job, but its SO much better than $300 I was thrilled.
Then I went to a potential venue for Erica's bridal shower and it was perfect and not too expensive and I booked it! So, glad to have that no longer hanging over my head! Now, I can finish designing the invitations which are turning out damn cute!
Thennn I met a woman at the mall through Craigslist and sold her our old medicine cabinet that was in the bathroom when we bought the house. It had a matching shelf that I brought a long just in case the woman wanted to buy that too, but when she said she liked it I just threw it in for free because I felt like I've had such a great day I could do something to pay it forward. It wasnt much, but better than nothing!
All in all a really good day.
