So, Megan and I have hit our first major snag with the housing situation. Basically, Emily came to us tonight and said that, due to several complications with the school, she's moving in with Tina and Michelle at the end of the week. That's fine, absolutely, and totally not the snag.
We began talking more and more about housing after she made the announcement--just general chit-chat--and Megan mentioned that she definitely did not want to live in the 300s next year and neither did I. Ashley got really upset and asked where we were going to live. Megan and I said that we didn't know. We had gotten an offer from Sara and her current roommate to live in a 4 person townhouse next year, but all Megan and I know is that we a.) want to live together b.) prefer to have our own rooms and private bathroom but that's negotiable and c.) do NOT want to live in the 300s.
Apart from that, we have no idea. We don't know where they want to live, we don't know where Ashley wants to live. We don't even know the name of Sara's roommate, so we haven't exactly planned anything out.
Ashley got really upset and asked if we just weren't going to tell her. This wasn't the case, as we explained, and told her only that we had gotten an offer. Nothing is decided, or even looked-into. She got really mad and left, telling Emily that she wasn't mad . . . at HER.
I just needed to get this off my chest because I don't know what to do. I don't want to lose a friend over this, but she's already making life difficult for us and we have the whole rest of the semester to live with her. Frankly, it's been a rough road thus far and this is certainly not helping, when we've been completely upfront with her. We're not trying to fool anyone or wait until the last minute to warn people. And what's going to happen IF we do decide that living with Sara and her friend is just a better situation? Are our last few months going to be miserable?
I don't know what to do about this. This is just something I needed to get off my chest and from our point of view.
ARRRRRGGG!
