So I ate too much... but hey, don't we all? Hope everyone had a pretty good Christmas. I got some lovely presents - clothes, *more* books to read, the quintessential perfumes and deodorants, and a sat nav! (Yay! Let's try to go somewhere random!) My sister even made me a t-shirt that says "Walsie Girl" on it! She rocks. That can come on the next Rushie get-together, aye?

Sky 2 were showing the Discworld dramas on a loop all day. I watched most of "The Hogfather", which I quite like and I've seen before, and later on (after midnight, when everyone else had gone to bed and I'd decided that my drawing of Twilight werewolf Jacob Black wasn't getting any better...) I watched a little of "The Colour of Magic". (I might have watched it all if it wasn't four hours long...) And I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. :) David Jason, who I get a little sick of seeing all the time, especially since he's in both the DW dramas, was actually very good as Rincewind, and even though I'd heard with dread that Jeremy Irons gave our beloved Vetinari a lisp, he still played the part magnificently, however brief if was. (Wuffles wasn't how I imagined him at all, but hey, it was still cute to see this tiny, fluffy terrier in the Patrician's arms.) I'm now intrigued. I'm going to have to buy the damn thing.

I've abandoned the Discworld for far too long... I'm so far behind on the books I might as well start over. (Though let's face it, one can start near-enough anywhere - I saw someone ask somewhere on the web what the Discworld reading order was, and laughed out loud - reading order? There is no "order" in any sense in these books. This is the Discworld! And we love it.)

It's back to work tomorrow so I'd better enjoy the rest of my day, and what little there is left of the snow and ice outside (it's warming up a bit again... boo). Happy Hogswatch Holidays to you all!

discworld, christmas
