“Right.” Katie put down her pencil she had been using to sketch in her journal. “He came by a little while ago. He said he’d love to take you up on the extra training you’ve been asking for.” She gave him a knowing smirk.
He sat down at his work space. “Extra training?”
“He’ll be here around 1900 tonight to pick you up. Your suit’s in the closet.”

He was brushing his teeth, like he normally did every night. He wore the thin, white standard issue boxers that allowed me to see the shadow of what lay beneath the fabric. I gazed over his stomach covered in light brown hairs and I could remember the taste of his flesh as I nibbled my way down.
He blue eyes glittered as he made his way towards me, mouth twisted in a mischievous grin.
“Doctor, I think I may be coming down with something.”
“Oh? Let me take a look then.” I grinned and pulled him down on the bed.

I watched them while everyone else talked and saw the little things that everyone took for granted. I saw how easily he slung his arm over the back of her chair, and how her hand rested casually on his thigh. I saw how she smiled and blushed at whatever he whispered in her ear while the conversations continued on between Radek, John, and Elizabeth. None of them could see what I saw because Rodney and Teyla were no longer a secret, but I knew it wasn’t the whole secret. No one could see that jealousy had blue eyes, not green.

But as people went about their business in the city - John training the new group, Radek in the lab, Elizabeth doing paperwork, Ronon and Teyla on the mainland - Rodney stood by Carson’s side, protecting him and waiting patiently to see those blue eyes again.
