I'm sorry I've been away for so long, but I've been pretty pre-occupied. My parents came down to help around the house last weekend. I should have pictures up as soon as I get them from my mom. I didn't take any for my house tour in March because I knew they were coming this weekend and we would be working on some things. Plus, mom would have her fantabulous camera and I wanted to use that. :)
When they came down, they brought me my box of genealogy stuff that I had stored away 13 years ago in my closet. I figured - hey! I've got time and resources!' And thus, my decent into obsession begins again!
I'm poking my head out because of two things. One: My Great-Great-Great Grandfather, Benjamin Franklin White Sr., apparently is extremely well known in the Shape Note singing community even today. Never heard of shape note singing? Neither had I until tonight. :) AND! He's got
his own Wiki page, and two of his sons do too {
James &
David}! He apparently wrote this booked called The Sacred Harp, which is a VERY famous book in American music history...sorta, cause I've never heard of it. Pretty kick-ass, ain't it?! I know you don't care, but this is kinda awesome for me. :)
But GOD! The name! Why would people subject their children to things like that! And the nerve to name one of his sons, my great-great grandfather that as well! Poor kids...
The second reason I've reemerged is because I have the next set of L4D2 decor all ready and screenshotted. I just need to make the teaser and post. :) They aren't nearly as awesome as some of the other sets, but I thought I'd still share them.
So, expect a post in the next hour - if LJ will let me load pages...
