I was just looking for some pics and I ran across a spoiler-ish picture that kinda rubs me the wrong way. Not because of the relationship in the picture, but the picture portrayed a relationship period. Here's where I rant and get my annoyances off my chest.
I really, really, really don't like it when shows that are not necessarily about romantic relationships suddenly develop them. I have issues with it.
I <3 CSI. I love it quite a bit because the characters are awesome and the plots are unique (for the most part). I'm entertained. But the whole Grissom/Sara thing kinda put me off. I'm not saying I didn't like the relationship, but the fact that it was brought up is the thing that I wasn't really fond of.
Take SG-1 and SGA for examples. Two pairings: Jack/Sam, Rodney/Jennifer. *pulls hair out* ARG!! I like my pairings. I like that its ambigious enough that anyone watching the show can see their own relationship within the cast! That's what makes it fun for me! I like seeing Daniel/Jack without the slap in the face with the Jack/Sam relationship. And Rodney/Jennifer. Cute couple, but I want to think that he makes a front with the people in Atlantis, but every night crawls into bed with Carson. That's what I want to see (not in the episode, but in my mind). Other people may see differently, but when a relationship officially is established, I get upset. I want the UST, not the confirmation that my ship has been sunk. But then the writers have to go and fuck it all up.
And of course this is why I stand by the fact that Sunday never happened.
Fuckers.
