The Only Good Holidays...

...Are the ones in World of Warcraft.  I Love Holidays in WoW.

Real-life holidays suck.  WoW holidays rule.  There are no drunken relatives to put up with, no gifts to buy, nothing to cook, and shittons of XP and goodies to be had by all.  Why can't real life be this good?

I finished the Horde-side quests (honoring the fires), and both my Death Knight and Pally went up a level as a result.  I did both the honoring and desecrating quests on my Nelf Hunter (still have to finish desecrating Eastern Kingdoms tomorrow), and it looks like he's going up TWO levels (to 65), which makes me ridiculously happy, since that's less grinding/questing I have to do.

And, I only died once on my Nelf, and once on my BE Pally.  Most of the opposite-faction revelers were respectful enough to leave everyone else alone, and I even got a few dances, waves, salutes and one flirt from the other faction (which I like, because I'm a pacifist, and it's awesome when everyone has a sense of humor).  You can't communicate with each other, but you can emote, and sometimes, it's hilarious.

My Pally got ganked in Booty Bay.  I desecrated the Alliance fire, then headed back to get a flight to the next point, and a level 80 Pally decided to kick my butt as I walked by because my PVP flag was on.  Fine.  Whatever.

But, kudos to the sonofabitch Orc Rogue who nailed my Nelf.  I always make sure there are no threats anywhere near the fire before I approach it.  He stealthed by the fire in Shadowmoon Village, and waited, and as soon as my PVP flag went up, he jumped on my ass out of thin air (thankfully, I wasn't flagged before I completed the quest, so I did get the XP for it).  He was level 80, I was level 64.  Fan of Knives.  I died in a spectacular three seconds (possibly less, but who's counting).  Good one, dude.  Didn't see it coming at all, and I got the shit scared out of me.  I honestly don't know why more rogues didn't consider doing that, since I think you get honor for the kills.  But, lucky for me, he was the only one.  If it happens again, I think I'll have a fucking heart attack.

I also discovered that if you're leveling leatherworking, and if you need rugged leather, the area north of Everlook is perfect.  I'm grinding rep for the Frostsaber mount, and so is everyone else, it seems.  Tonight, I was the only one in the area who had skinning (apparently), and although it took me extra-long to get all the quest items I needed, I just ran behind everyone else and skinned all the fallen mobs.  It was fucking awesome.  I had leather coming out of my ears, and I bumped up my leatherworking skill quite a bit.  And, it was no work on my end, really.  No having to take the time to kill all the mobs, no wasting ammo, just run behind and clean up.  Woohoo.

I think Brewfest is next (meh, whatever), then Hallows' End, which I love, because, again, I'll get shittons of XP for trick-or-treating.  I can't wait.

wow
