I'm going through the job bank. Some employers will state a wage range that they're willing to offer for that position. I'm used to seeing stuff like $13-15/hour, $17-21/hour, $2000-2400 monthly, $35,000 - 40,000 annually, and so on.
One employer has their wage range set at $12.00 to $12.01 per hour.
I wonder just how qualified you have to be to get that extra penny?
It may just be a typo, but it still made me laugh. "I know your range is $12.00 to $12.01, and I really believe I'm worth the $12.01."
I got one call for an interview and went in on Wednesday, but haven't heard anything back yet. Not sure if I want it; it's all the way across the city, even though it's not a bad drive. The pay is good ($45k to start, which is perfect - it would pay the bills, and give me enough to get that degree at AU I was looking at) but I was told several times that their computer systems are old, and their accounting program is still on DOS (WTF???). The greedy part of me is looking at the nice wage, but the logical part of me is going, 'DOS? Are you fucking kidding?' I was too afraid to ask if they still used floppy disks.
It also involves collections, which I really fucking hate.
I'm going to keep looking, just because.
