I've met some people who have a naturally bubbly personality, but they tend to get on my nerves. They get really excited to meet new people, and they have a typical Type A personality.
The problem is that in the business world, many of those Type A personalities rise to the top, and they're the ones who are in charge of hiring others. They don't understand the serious, logical, introverts, so they look for other Type A personalities, even if the Type B would've been better for the position (I find that Type As don't always work well in positions where there's a ton of repetitive work and little human contact).
It's a basic lack of comprehension on the part of the person who's doing the hiring.
Type B recruiters (logical introverts) tend to look at which type of personality best suits the position, and hires accordingly. A Type B recruiter will know that a Type A will shine in a sales position, whereas a Type B would die a slow mental death. They'd also realize that a data entry position would be perfect for another Type B, but it wouldn't be for many Type As.
It's an introvert/extrovert thing. Introverts are always able to see both sides of the equation, and they can understand extroverts (deep thinking), whereas extroverts rarely understand introverts (broad, shallow thinking). So, if the recruiter is an extrovert, I need to be pretty damn perfect for the position skills-wise, otherwise I won't have a chance.
And, we introverts are outnumbered. It's a fact of life, but it still sucks.
