camp day 2
1st period:
Digital Darkroom. (Photoshop)
The kids are starting to understand levels and opacity. Some more than others. Fran, who I teach with, takes the class very serious, whereas I want to help the kids put George Bush's face on chimps.
2nd Period:
Beginner Video.
Today we discussed the difference between actors and characters, and aspects of beginnings and endings that we think are important. We also practiced saying lines loud enough to be heard on crappy camcorders.
3rd Period:
Off. Consumed ceasar salad with crappy dressing and root beer. Talked smack about your mom.
Lunch:
Walked around and talked to kids who were sitting by themselves. Suffered mild asthma moment because of heat. Nebulized.
Noontime Show:
Clapped the loudest for Performance Art class. I miss them and they are geniuses.
Festival Period (4th):
Taught kids how to use phpBB online forums created for our program. Administrated the forums during usage.
Fifth Period:
ShortCuts. Continued first projects, Video Poetry Kit. One kid is a genius. One kid really doesn't understand anything I say, which is partly my fault but also she must live under a rock because she doesn't know how to click a mouse and is trying to learn to edit movies. The other two kids are getting there. I think the class will end up being very good.
Sixth Period:
Reel Theater. Decided nothing. Got called a "queer" and a "frickin lesbian" by a camper. Sang theme song to Full House. Continued brainstorming. We are probably going with a sitcom meets tragedy theme.
