Komen bites the dust

The Susan Komen foundation just lost my respect and any funds I might donate to it in the future. Characterizing Planned Parenthood as an Abortion Factory just shows how far their heads are up their buttocks. When will men get the frack outta women's wombs?!

Sad part is I doubt Susan would have approved of this nonsense.

They're lying. This investigation they're citing is the work of one senator, a Republican from Florida who is Pro Life. He started all of this by postulating that funds for Planned Parenthood should be stripped in Florida because Federal money was being used for abortions. His 'investigation' amounted to making PP turn over all of their records with a breakdown of what was spent for whom and what. He said the report would be for a meeting...in two weeks.

What happened was Planned Parenthood, which has become under attack in recent years, was able to actually generate the report he asked for. The results were that no taxpayer money was being spent for abortions in Florida. All the money that they used from the feds were used for mammograms, pap smears, birth control and women's health in general.

The two women that head Komen now are Pro Life right wingers who want to see Planned Parenthood go away in order to promote the no abortion angle.

Since their bud in Florida was calling for an investigation, they used that to say, ok, no more dollar's for you, because you're a bad organization that the government (1 lone senator) is investigating.

Added to this is the fact that they don't feel the need to communicate to the 'little people', the actual donors, who volunteer, run marathons fund raise and have dedicated themselves to help others, and you have a mess. The women and men who do the actual job of the foundation, tweeted and facebooked the story to others worldwide and the two bobble heads in the front office had no clue that their little scheme had effectively torched their reputation.

Over the course of two or three days, donors pledged their funds to PP to make up the difference. And on the third day...Komen relents and says all is well, we've rewritten the bylaws. We're cutting them a check now.

OF course the cup full of water they're using to douse the flames is not going to be sufficient to win back the trust of those who worked so hard for komen, in order to help less fortunate ones that themselves.
The denials ring hollow after the two women and the man at the head of the organization essentially told everyone that wasn't them to 'go eat cake'.
