Busking and Bats - cross post

No busking last night due to rain. I had decided it would be sufficiently perverse to wear a suit and tie. So I loaded all my equipment into the new Subaru. It fits nicely in this vehicle. Showered and dressed up and drove downtown just in time for it to start sprinkling. I stood for a bit with an umbrella where we were supposed to busk. I looked around and admired people sitting in nearby sidewalk cafés in the light rain. Since I had forgotten the phone number for the Street Musician people I drove home and called them. At five minutes before we were scheduled to play they canceled. It's a good thing, since I didn't see any other busker than myself. As I told Jonathon on the phone, "All dressed up and no place to go."

Last night in the middle of the night (2 AM), Edison cornered a bat in the bathroom. Eileen woke me up. I find this hilarious since I am as frightened of bats as she is. So I groggily managed to capture the bat and free it. Later when we couldn't get back to sleep and were reading Eileen read me a passage in Alice in Wonderland she had just come across:

"But do cats eat bats, I wonder?' And here Alice began to get rather sleepy, and went on saying to herself, in a dreamy sort of way, `Do cats eat bats? Do cats eat bats?' and sometimes, `Do bats eat cats?'"
