Well, this week started out on my birthday and it went alright barring the fact Nathan woke up sick. All but one of his sisters called, visited, took me out for lunch...so that was pretty nice. Now I just need to remember their birthdays!
Nathan's birthday was on Tuesday, so we split the difference and went out to eat on Monday night. Made him a cake for his birthday on Tuesday. Wednesday, I had my Immunology final and managed to get a B+ in the class...which was a little disappointing. But it was nice to finally be done with the class. On a sad note, Jennifer got fired on Wednesday, which was a shock to all of us. I'm not really sure why other than "attendance issues." When I got home, I went to a church women's party with my pretty much one and only friend out here. I wasn't expecting to have too much fun as our congregation is filled to the brim with old, bitter, crazy ladies. But it turned out to be pretty nice and we met two others girls about our age and station in life (well, I had met one already...she did my hair for the wedding) and had lots of fun cracking up. Then I took Jen (my friend)home and we sat in the car and talked for a while.
Thursday was relatively uneventful. Tonight was AMAZING!!! So I left work early so that we could meet Nathan's parents at the Lion House for dinner. That was pretty good. Not exactly what I had imagined in that it was buffet style and I was expecting sit-down, but it was still nice. Then we walked around Temple Square and looked at the lights before heading to the Conference Center for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert featuring Sissel. Sissel apparently is world renowned. She the ethereal voice on the Titanic movie soundtrack and, if I'm not mistaken, the LotR soundtrack, too. She's from Norway and has a voice to die for. There were dancers as well and it was just incredibly beautiful. Then there was this organ solo. The organist was totally hammering away on the keys and then he started playing the melody with his feet, too. It was about one of the most amazing things I have ever seen anyone do. I so didn't want him to stop. If only I could replay that moment over and over again! Apparently, President Hinckley and President Faust were in the audience, too. That was kind of neat to know. For those who don't understand, it was like being part of the same audience that the pope is of. So, once the concert was done (2 hours), we walked outside and it was snowing! It was beautiful. Luckily it was super warm today (I would say 50s or so) so it hasn't started quite sticking to the roads yet. We came home and had some eggnog.
We're supposed to go to a party on the benches (mountainside, for those non-Utahns) tomorrow...if the weather isn't too bad.
